Below are recaps of some of our outreach events. To see what is currently going on, check out our Calendar or you can find detailed descriptions on our Event List.
Dynamo Kids Weekly Bible School
Dynamo Kids Club (AKA VBS held during the school year) is held on Wednesdays from 6-7:30 for children in Grades 1-6.
Kids will find all of the fun elements of Vacation Bible School righ there every week: engaging Bible stories, fun games and activities, snacks, and making new friends.
Transportation is available. Call the church at 518-686-3269 for more information or to arrange a ride.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Each year, many church volunteers work tirelessly to prepare for and serve during our Vacation Bible School. It is an all-out effort with fun games, upbeat music, tasty snacks, and inspiring Bible stories so that the children in our community will have the best possible experience learning about God and His love for them. Children look forward to returning every year to learn more about their relationship with Jesus and to have fun with their special VBS friends. Transportation is available if needed.
VBS is typically held in mid-July. As time draws near, you can find info here or on our FB page.
Sportsman's Banquet
One of our more popular outreach events is our Annual Sportsman's Banquet, typically held mid-March. For over ten years, we have invited sportsmen (and women) to join us for a delicous game dinner.
The church supplies side dishes, beverages and desserts, but we do ask our sportsmen to provide their favorite game dishes. We have tasted everything from alligator to venison and everything in between.
Besides great food, guests hear an inspiring story from our guest speaker's experience in the outdoors and have an opportunity to share some of their own experiences around the tables.
There is no cost for the event and all are welcome to attend.
Stay tuned for more information on next year's event.
Men's Breakfasts
From September through May, on the second Saturday of the month, you will find men (all ages welcome) gathered at HFCAC from 8-9:30 AM for our Men's Breakfast. These breakfasts have become tradition. There is always a hearty, delicious home made breakfast (cooked and served by our men), an inspiring testimony or devotional, and good friends and fellowship around the tables.
This is an inter-generational event for any male. You do not need to attend HFCAC. There is no cost, but a free-will offering is taken to help offset costs.
Job Fairs
After many years of prayer, our first job fair was held on April 25, 2023, with a second in April 2024. In May 2025, we joined forces with Rensselaer County Career One Stop, SUNY Apprenticeship Program, Capital Region Workforce Development Board and Hoosick Falls Central School to host our third. Each time, we have had a full house of vendors and increasing number of job seekers.
This partnership added new dynamics as we incorporated apprenticeships and additional workforce development programs.
At the request of community members after our May 2025 event, we added a second event in October. We are encouraging schools to bring their students so they can see the opportunities that are available to them as they approach employment age and consider their futures.
We hope to host both a spring (April/May) and fall (October) event each year. For more information, check out our FB page and website.
